business landscapingIf you are searching for landscaping for businesses in Gilbert, you have probably experienced some frustration. There are numerous landscapers available, but it can be difficult to determine which will give you the best value for your budget. Selecting a landscaper is a business decision and you want to make sure you get the best value for your dollars. Therefore, key decision-making factors should be considered when you are looking for a landscaper. Here are four that you will want to think about:

Locally owned and operated

A locally owned and operated commercial landscaping business is an important consideration. With a local business you can build a relationship with the owners and employees. When the landscapers become familiar with you and your business, they may give you special considerations as well as cost-saving suggestions. Large national landscapers operate on volume and can have high employee turnover, but a local business creates the best landscaping for your business because your success means their success.

Experience

Look for a company that has several years of experience in landscaping for businesses in Gilbert. Working with a landscaper with experience (especially in our desert climate) can serve as an assurance of great results. An experienced landscaper can suggest the correct plants for the best appearance, the correct watering schedule and the most effective trimming and maintenance schedule.

Client Focus

The best landscaping company for businesses in Gilbert focuses on you and your customers first. You are concerned about taking care of your customers as well as the care and building of your brand. The best landscaper will spend time getting to know you so they can consider your needs as well as make suggestions that will help your business be more attractive and inviting to your potential customers.

Cost of services

Finally, of course, is cost. But do not make the decision on cost alone. Instead, make the decision based on value; how much value you are getting for your landscaping dollars. A good landscaper will add value by doing things like flexing their schedule when need be, doing emergency work if it comes up and providing money-saving hints and tips. Local businesses who want to keep you as a client will always be adding value.

Good commercial landscaping is an important factor in having a successful business. When considering a business that provides landscaping for businesses in Gilbert, think about the four factors we talked about to help you make your decision. Living in the desert presents some unique challenges, but you can find a Gilbert landscaper that can really make your yard look great. Whether you want something green (and have the water bill to prove it), or you’re looking for something that takes full advantage of the natural beauty of the desert, you can get everything from help and ideas from someone who will arrive on your schedule and handle everything for you. It’s up to you what you’d like, so be sure to ask around and see what kinds of services are offered for your area.

Price Doesn’t Always Equal Value

It can seem like common sense to choose the person or company with the lowest price. After all, why would you want to pay more for something when you could get it for less? Keep in mind, though, that the price you’re paying isn’t always equal to the value you’re getting. Some companies will charge you much more than others, but the value isn’t as good because you aren’t getting a lot more services or a lot higher quality for that increase in price. You have to balance what you’re paying for and what you’re getting so you can enjoy the most for your money.

Be Sure to Read Reviews

Before choosing a landscaper in Gilbert, consider what others have to say. One or two bad reviews could just be from customers that are very hard to please. But if there are a lot of bad reviews, you might want to think twice. In that case, it might be better to go with a different company. What other people think isn’t always a good gauge of whether you’ll be satisfied with a landscaper, but it’s still worth considering because people do tend to report bad experiences and that can be important in helping others make decisions.

Overall, you’ll want to find a landscaper who charges you fairly for the work that’s getting done and who doesn’t cut corners. You also want someone you can get along with since that person will be on your property on a regular and consistent basis. Being able to trust that person is very important, especially if you have a lot of money and time invested in your landscape.

This is the final part in a two part series. To read part one, click here.

Arizona does not see much of a winter, but with spring around the corner it is time to lock down a Gilbert landscaper for spring lawn preparation. Before temperatures begin to climb back up into triple digits, it is important to remember that proper spring lawn care can have a big impact on your lawn and landscaping around your home in the summer. Many lawns require professional Gilbert landscaper services such as fertilizing, aerating and seeding.

If your pre-winter beautiful lawn has turned into patches of yellow and brown, then it is best to hire a Gilbert landscaper to reseed your lawn where it has bare spots and thin areas. This is done by aerating the lawn, removing any thatch with a specialized thatch rake and adding a light dose of fertilizer. Heavy fertilization typically is not needed in the spring, and adding extra fertilizer at this point will not help the lawn’s root system. That is something that is typically done in the fall that helps with spring lawn preparation.

Nearly every lawn will require aeration at least once per year, which can aid in the growth of the lawn’s root system. You can often find at-home aeration products such as walking shoes with spikes, but the best aeration that your lawn could receive is from a professional Gilbert landscaper that has a commercial aerator. An easy way to check your lawn to see if needs aeration is to take a screwdriver and attempt to press it into the ground. If it won’t go into the soil or it is difficult to press in, you know your lawn needs to be aerated by a Gilbert landscaper.

It is a good idea to consult with a Gilbert landscaper if you have any questions about your lawn or landscaping needs. If you are considering a professional landscaping and lawn company, get at least two estimates, remember to ask any important questions upfront and feel comfortable with the company you choose based on their ability to complete your Gilbert landscaping needs the first time around.

  • Fertilizing – Adding organic or inorganic material that is added to the lawn’s soil to supply the required nutrients and minerals that is essential for proper lawn growth.
  • Aerating – Adds “air gaps” to the soil, improves drainage, allows for the absorption of the fertilizer and allows new grass seeds to directly contact the soil.
  • Seeding – Required to start a new lawn or as an alternative to laying sod, it is the least expensive way to transform your soil into a beautiful lawn.

You might have left your lawn care slide a little over the winter months and one of the first things that should be done by a Gilbert landscaper in early spring is removing any debris that has accumulated over the past few  winter months. The early spring months in March or April is a great time to start seeding new lawns due to the favorable weather conditions, as long as the triple-digit heat has not yet set in.

In part two of this post, we will continue to discuss how a Gilbert landscaper can prep your lawn in the spring for a beautiful landscape in the summer. Contact Corona Landscape today for all of your spring lawn care needs.
