In part 1 of this blog post we provided Phoenix landscaping tips that will help you conserve water and save money on your water bill. In this blog post we will continue to provide landscaping tips help you control water losses and conserve water.

Phoenix Landscaping Tip #5: Use fences and shrubs to reduce water losses caused by wind evaporation. Reducing the amount of wind that crosses your pool will reduce wind evaporation.

Phoenix Landscaping Tip #6: When using a hose to fill your pool, make sure to keep an observant eye on the water level. Forgetting to turn off your hose can be costly. Pool owners are advised to use a hose timer to limit the amount of water used. Hose timers can be purchased at most garden centers and hardware stores.

Phoenix Landscaping Tip #7: Repair all swimming pool leaks. Pool owners should check their pool regularly for leaks or cracks and make the proper repairs immediately. Even an unsubstantial leak in your pool equipment or pool structure could represent a substantial waste of water. In fact, approximately 100,000 gallons of water per year can be lost due to an inch a day leak in an average swimming pool. If your water level reduces by more than one inch per day, investigate your pool and equipment for problems, especially the pool’s auto fill devices.

Phoenix Landscaping Tip #8: Use pool covers when possible. An uncovered average sized (16 ft. X 32 ft.) pool loses roughly one inch of water a week due to evaporation. Roughly 90 percent of water loss caused by evaporation can be prevented through the use of a pool cover. The average pool owner can save nearly 20,000 gallons of water annually with a pool cover. Pool covers can also prevent heat loss and save you money on chemicals and your heating bills.

In part 1 of this blog post we provided a few tips for choosing a specialist for landscaping in Ocotillo. This blog post will continue to provide information about choosing an Ocotillo landscaping specialist.

Be sure to hire only as much help as you need. If you only want a planting plan for an existing garden bed, you do not need the services of a specialist for landscaping in Ocotillo you can simply consult a master gardener. However, if you are unsure what services you need it is best to consult with a landscaping specialist.

If you are searching for the name of experienced and reputable designers a few resources to consider are local design magazines and your state’s American Society of Landscape Architects chapter.

Once you have created a list of possible landscape architects, conduct a few phone interviews and see what kind of information you can gather. Ask for a portfolio or whether you can see some samples of their work to ensure you are comfortable with their style. You can also ask if any of their work has been published in magazines or books or ask if there are any projects in your area that you can examine in person.  Finally, invite promising a specialist for landscaping in Ocotillo to your property for an estimate and be sure to choose a specialist with whom you can easily communicate.

An Ocotillo landscaping specialist’s goal should be to take the day-to-day hassle out of maintaining your landscape by offering a variety of services and developing a long-term relationship with you. An Ocotillo landscaper should be able to provide weekly or bi-weekly service, or a custom schedule to fit your maintenance needs.

Are you considering acquiring the services of an Ocotillo landscaper? Are you looking for an Ocotillo landscaper to maintain your outdoor living environment? Then this blog post is for you. This post will provide information about how to choose an Ocotillo landscaper as well as how the services of a landscaper can add value to your home as well as the homes of your neighbors.

A well-designed landscape, like a newly remodeled bathroom or kitchen can drastically increase the value of your home. When it comes to selling your home, your landscaping is what makes a lasting first impression when prospective buyers see your home.

An Ocotillo landscaper can provide a wide variety of services. Some may just do bi-weekly or monthly maintenance, others may install walkways, decks, sprinkler systems and more, well others strictly do landscape architecture or design. Many companies provide a combination of all of these services.

When you decide to acquire the services of an Ocotillo landscaper, it is important to define your needs and budget. Are you looking for a landscaper to simply mow your lawn and weed a few times a month or are you looking for someone to replace your lawn completely? It is important to know in advance what kind of services you want to acquire and find a landscaper that provides those services for a reasonable price. It is also important to define your budget and stick to it. It is very easy to start a project with a certain budget and easily exceed your budget if you are not careful.

It is also very important to research an Ocotillo landscaper before acquiring their services. There are numerous ways to research landscapers including online directories, yellow pages and of course asking your friends, family or neighbors. Roughly 40 percent of landscapers are chosen based on referral, while other individuals research via the Internet or yellow pages.

Once you choose a professional Ocotillo landscaper, find out what their timeline is. Some companies who are in high demand may not be able to get to you as quickly or as often as you’d like. Their schedule needs to match yours. Also, you’ll want to take into consideration the type of project you’re doing. For instance, if you’re incorporating a lot of plants into your design, you’ll want to make sure that the planting can be done at a time that’s best for the plants.

Everyone wants their landscape taken care of as quickly as possible. Be patient and plan carefully – this will cause the least amount of stress for all parties involved. You should also be aware that your lawn probably won’t be the only job they’re working on. Ideally, you want your Ocotillo landscaper to focus on your job, but sometimes that can’t be done realistically. However, if you can find out how many jobs they’re working on at once, you can try to schedule yours at a time less busy so you can avoid getting skipped or having your date moved.
